GPO Superintendent of Documents Scott Matheson to Deliver Keynote Address at GID24

The Indiana State Library is excited to announce Government Publishing Office (GPO) Superintendent of Documents Scott Matheson as the keynote speaker for Government Information Day (GID) 2024 conference on May 17th. Since joining the GPO in 2022, Scott is spearheading the transition to a Digital Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). He will address the changing landscape of federal depositories, and how government information is improving accessibility to a modern American society. Attendees will be able to learn about the importance of improving access and connecting citizens with official government information.

Mr. Matheson previously worked as Associate Law Librarian for Technical Services at the Lillian Goldman Law Library (Yale Law Library). Scott brings over twenty years of experience working at federal depositories before crossing over to GPO. His insight into the needs of libraries and patrons is paramount as GPO continues to delve into the digital age. The keynote address will highlight a day of programs promoting government information and resources.

GID24 is a free one-day conference created to promote government information literacy and awareness of government resources. The conference is Indiana’s largest gathering of librarians all present to learn about government resources. This years’ upcoming conference will be the first hybrid (in-person and virtual) format to allow a larger audience to participate. The collaborative conference is open to all people interested in government information, government documents, and government data. For questions relating to GID24, please contact Brent Abercrombie planning committee chair.
