Midwest National Collection Service Area
The Midwest National Collection Service Area (NCSA) is established by the Superintendent of Documents to meet the requirement, set by the Joint Committee on Printing in 2015, that the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) maintain no fewer than four geographically-dispersed tangible copies of a publication. Regional discards and regional online selections are also determined by NCSA region. The map below comprises the states of the Midwest Region.
Current Titles Eligible for Regional Online Selection
- Federal Register
- Congressional Record (Daily)
- Code of Federal Regulations and CFR Index and Finding Aids
The Indiana State Library de-selected the tangible format for the Federal Register and Congressional Record (Daily). No decision has been made regarding the Code of Federal Regulations, CFR Index, and Finding Aids.
Current Titles Eligible for Regional Discard
- Statutes at Large
- Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States
The Indiana State Library is a Preservation Steward for both the Statutes at Large and Public Papers of the Presidents of the United States, and will continue to have tangible copies of both series.
